Hot Snakes are an American hardcore garage punk band with a sound like the Offspring meets Descendents. A lot of repeated, short lyrics packed with emotion and meaning. This is a more amateurish-sounding and samey rock album than Hot Snakes’ future work, and feels like it was put together before they found their sound and themes - which is true. Still, there are some standout gems and moments with great instrumentation.

  1. Clean

  2. Clean

  3. Possibly considered graphic - it’s about how the singer is capable of doing anything without hands, “with stumps,” “cut em off me,” “I’ll wear em around my neck.” No actual description of blood or dismemberment.

  4. FCC explicit, probably. Begins with 30 seconds of distortion and long drum intro. References to having materials to build a bomb, Nazi concentration camps, and Deir Yassin killings of Palestinians. No swearing

  5. Clean. Heavy content. “It’s a dead planet and I’m a dead man, the search for bodies goes on and on.”

  6. Clean. Fast paced heavy guitar. Mourning that a relationship didn’t work out, but glad for passion when they were together

  7. Clean. Hype! Gradual anticipation build throughout the song with a great guitar hook

  8. Sexually suggestive: “I got my mouth right in the lap of a girl I'm seeing in my dreams.” Long, great guitar outro.

  9. Clean. Aggressive, tense, unrelenting song with heavy drums.

  10. Clean. Short instrumental song with no lyrics. Sick!

  11. Clean
