Best Friends Forever is a midwestern folk punk band and Romance Conflict Adventure is their debut album originally released in 2008. The band for this album is Briana Smith, Jessica Seamans, and Joe Rand, and each track is characterized by Bri and Jess singing together, often in unison, with a variety of wind and percussion instruments behind them. Like an amped up Kimya Dawson or Violent Femmes on a baby piano.

  1. Clean. Changes keys from major to minor with lots of instrument variety. Toy instrument sounds are used - prominent recorder, elementary piano, and maybe melodica.

  2. Clean. “Put my hand in your back pocket,” “singing makes me want to do it.” Lightheartedly suggestive. Glockenspiel

  3. “Crap.” Dissonant talk-singing in unison about the magic of being on tour with a band you vibe with.

  4. Sexually suggestive. About being in love with a ghost and the advantages they have over living men. “Please put your ghostly tongue in my mouth and move it all around and around,” “We don’t have (protected?) sex and I’m never late, and anyway he’s probably shooting blanks.” Spooky instrumental, crispy bass, interlude in the middle has cool cathartic screaming

  5. Clean. Suggestive: “I’d love just once to see you in the nude.” Bass sax, maybe bassoon?

  6. Clean. Upbeat and playful, about only being able to love someone if you’re in a long distance relationship.

  7. Clean. Tight drums and catchy melody

  8. “Crap.” About pathologizing emotion and the fear of being a narcissist or sociopath

  9. Clean. Catchy riff
